"Kindness in an Unkind World" - AP Art Concentration Portfolio

This piece is the final piece to be viewed in this portfolio! It is 4.5" x 6.25" and uses watercolor pencils. I wanted to end this journey in my portfolio hopefully, yet realistically. Humans live in an unkind world we made, yet many people's acts of kindness give me hope. In this picture, I went with the cliche "walking an old lady across the street", but changed it so it'd be an old turtle. Even though people run over turtles, I still have hope, because people like him move them to safety.
...
Humans. Every single one of them lives a beautiful, painful life, yet there are always these moments in our lives that can connect us to one another. For instance, everyone can remember a moment when someone embarrassed them as a kid. We all know what that feels like, how one wants to hide their burning red cheeks and run away. It is moments like these - ones of intense, unfiltered, and paradoxically personal and universal human emotion - that I try to capture in my Concentration Portfolio.
