Gronkle - HTTYD Mug Set (1/4)

As I was looking online, I realized how overpriced and under-designed some nerdy mugs were. This inspired me to make my own set of mugs that A) were free, and B) would be designed by me. However, I have no skills on a ceramic wheel, but I thankfully had a friend who did, and she made the body and handle of the mugs for me.

Then, I transferred my design to the mug by using a laminated paper with my design cut out and carved through the lines. Then I fired it, glazed it, and fired it again. I chose to make the Gronkle comfort a baby, partially because it's tail always looked like a baby rattle to me and partially because in the Gronkles in the movies are such gentle, caring creatures. This was my first mug in the set and the first mug I've ever made.

This piece has a 3.75" height, 3.5" depth, 3.375" width (not including handle length), and a wall thickness of 0.1875". It was fired with low-fire glazes.
