"Love Heals as Easily as Love Burns" - AP Art Concentration Portfolio

This piece is the tenth piece of 12 to be viewed in this portfolio. It is 14" x 11" and was created using watercolor pencils. In this piece, I wanted to show how love and marriage can be a double-edged sword. For instance, the human proposing is giving the sunflower the sun it needs, but too much or too little will make it ill. Yes, the human helps by providing, but the human should not be the only source of sunshine and support. All in all, this piece is a simply a metaphor.

Also, the person in the picture is one of my best friends who shares a similar understanding of the metaphor!

Portfolio Summary:
Humans. Every single one of them lives a beautiful, painful life, yet there are always these moments in our lives that can connect us to one another. For instance, everyone can remember a moment when someone embarrassed them as a kid. We all know what that feels like, how one wants to hide their burning red cheeks and run away. It is moments like these - ones of intense, unfiltered, and paradoxically personal and universal human emotion - that I try to capture in my Concentration Portfolio.
