This piece is the seventh piece of 12 to be viewed in this portfolio. It is 11" x 14" and was created using watercolor pencils. In this piece, I wanted to show how knowing and owning who you are protects you from those who judge. I took this a bit literally, by showing a teenager playing a GameBoy be protected by a force field created by game characters. It's just so empowering to see a human be themselves.
Portfolio Summary:
Humans. Every single one of them lives a beautiful, painful life, yet there are always these moments in our lives that can connect us to one another. For instance, everyone can remember a moment when someone embarrassed them as a kid. We all know what that feels like, how one wants to hide their burning red cheeks and run away. It is moments like these - ones of intense, unfiltered, and paradoxically personal and universal human emotion - that I try to capture in my Concentration Portfolio.
