I was finally able to see the 12th series of Doctor Who and I'm obsessed again! Anyways, while watching this season in particular, I noticed how the 13th Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) would only show her darker emotions when alone in the TARDIS or in asides where her companions couldn't see her face. It reminded me of how all the other Doctors would brood as well and how heartbreaking it was to see them just sit with their sadness. Thus, this piece was born.
This piece was made using Gravit Designer and is 18" by 24". I'm especially proud of my drawing of the 12th Doctor (Peter Capaldi), since it only took me 4 hours to do and it came out the best! This piece took a week or so to create.
P.S. The companion of Clara Oswald once told the 12th Doctor, "Do you have your own mood lighting now? Because, frankly, the accent is enough." And wow, was she right, I never noticed how differently lit each of the Doctor's TARDIS was (in both the slang and correct usage of the word) until I was trying and failing to recolor the 13th Doctor! Still, it was a good experience and it only made me further appreciate the stunning shots captured via the use of these moody lights in the show.
P.S.S. Thank you for naming this piece, Yasmin Khan, with your line to the 13th Doctor about how travelling "might get you out of your mardy mood!"
