"Isabelle le Goldfish"

This watercolor piece is based off of a really good friend of mine.

I jokingly call her a "Goldfish," which I really wanted to incorporate into this piece for a plethora of reasons. For one, she and goldfish have a very similar vibe of calm, happy cuteness. For another reason, goldfish remind me of a really nice time in my life, of visiting lakes and freely being a tomboy. So, I drew everything from those beautiful lakes that I could remember: fish, lily-pads, turtles, crayfish, and frogs. And by using all these peaceful memories and colors, I was able to create a piece that translated not only my friend's physical appearance, but also her emotional appearance.
